Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who Is Dr. Delahooke?

Dr. Mona Delahooke is a clinical child psychologist, mother, and grandmother with a mission of reducing children’s suffering, increasing their joy and resilience, and supporting families. Her paradigm-shifting model offers new understanding of emotional and behavior challenges and aims to enhance children’s development and relationships.

Dr. Delahooke lives with her husband in the Los Angeles area. Her favorite activities are hanging out with her adult children, taking long walks on the beach, and playing with her young granddaughter, who calls her Oma.

  • Why Was the Brain- Body Collective Founded?

Early in her career, Dr. Delahooke came to realize the limitations of her mental health training when she couldn’t find appropriate, effective solutions to alleviate the distress of her own daughter, who had been born prematurely.

Her search for better options led her to pursue additional training as an infant and toddler specialist. In the process, she discovered the significance of the whole body, the brain-body connection, and the autonomic nervous system to understanding and supporting children.

She now has set out to make it easier for parents to understand the science behind it all and how to incorporate it into their parenting journey.

  • What Is Beyond Behaviors and Brain-Body Parenting?
